What is Tufting?
Tufting is a textile technique where yarn is punched through fabric using tufting gun to create rugs, wall hangings or other textured pieces.
How to prepare for a workshop?
Choose an image. More info via email after booking.
Email us the image at info@tufttimestudio.com at least 4 days before your session to ensure we have everything ready.

How long does a rug take to make
Depending on the size and complexity of your piece, a rug can take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours to completely finish. A 16"x16" will typically take 3 hours and a 24"x24" will take 4-5 hours.
Can I reschedule or cancel my reservation?
Due to the small class sizes, reservations are non-refundable. Please send someone in your place if you are unable to make it. Rescheduling a session must be made 24hrs prior to booked session. Thank you for your understanding.
Do i need to have prior tufting experience to book a session?
Not at all! Our sessions are tailored to guide everyone through the rug making process regardless of their level of knowledge and experience. You are guaranteed to come out with a beautiful piece at the end of the day!
What is included in the workshop fee?
All materials are provided: yarn, backing cloth, tufting gun use and finishing. You just bring your creativity
Do I get to take my rug home the same day?
Your rug will need some finishing time (glue and trimming). We will have it ready for you to pick up within a week.
What age is required?
For safety reasons, workshops are for participants aged 16 and older. Tufting guns are considered industrial equipment. Participant aged 16-17 will require parental waiver signed.
Can two people tuft on the same frame?
Using two tufting machines at the same time on the same frame can be unsafe and might also affect the quality of your rug. Therefore, only one machine is allowed per frame. However, you are welcome to bring someone to take turns with! Additional person is $30.
What if I do not finish my piece on time?
If you're not finish within your allotted time, a second day session (within a month of the first session) can be booked to continue working on your rug, free of charge. We will keep your work safe in the studio for when you come back to finish it.
